Tom Clatworthy

Tom joined the Space Professionals Partnership in March 2024. He is an expert in space radiation effects, environments and nuclear hardening with more than 17 years’ experience in the field and in spacecraft and satellite design including thermal, internal charging and Atomic Oxygen analysis. Tom has managed the radiation hardness assurance of many large-scale projects including Quantum and Galileo IOV/FOC, supported numerous SMEs in the UK and Worldwide on equipment and full satellite developments, and performed detailed radiation analysis, EEE part reviews (COTS and Hi-Rel) and radiation testing.

Tom has an extensive knowledge of radiation environments and the impacts and challenges they pose to satellite design, and is highly experienced using radiation software including Fastrad, OMERE, NOVICE and SPENVIS.
